As part of our theme about lifecycles in Nursery/Petite Section we have looked closely at the story of ‘The hungry caterpillar’ by Eric Carle.
We have learnt some lovely songs and done lots of beautiful art projects helping the children to learn not only about the life cycle of a butterfly but also some of the vocabulary that they need to talk about it ! For the grand finale, one of the children in the class was able to bring in a real butterfly that she had raised at home so that the children of the class could watch it being released into the school garden to enjoy all the beautiful flowers ! As you can imagine, the children were thrilled !!
